First time I decided to start traveling taking a gap year from my studies in Argentina, I knew I wanted to visit Africa, and I’m so happy I did because I found this amazing place.
When I first came to this place I was 18 in April of 2024, I was supposed to stay for two weeks before continuing traveling the world, but when I left, I noticed there were so many things I didn’t do with the time I had, and I decided to come back two weeks later for five more weeks, and decided that it didn’t matter how much time I spent in this place, it would never be enough, so I started looking for a job in this place, and as I loved the animals in Antelope Park so much, and while doing wildlife we got to spend so much time with them, getting to know them all, I knew I wanted to be a wildlife intern, two weeks before my second time as a volunteer ended they offer me the job, and it was so amazing to know that even though I was soon leaving to go home, I was coming back, without knowing when would be the next time I would go back home, and see my family, but this place gave me a new one, built by the people in this place, and animals, it gave me a home, and a job I love with all my heart.
Some of the things I enjoyed the most here is meeting all the new people every Monday, connecting so much with the beautiful three elephants this place has, and seeing all the wildlife within Antelope Park, Zimbabwe. Some people could ask me if I get tired of seeing the same things,, but I can assure you, there’s nothing to get used to, seeing the giraffes keeps amazing me every single time, the zebras, wildebeest and impalas running on the polo cross field every afternoon, the birds flying over the dam, and saying hello to all the cats this place has, will never stop to feel my heart with joy.
Right now, I’m really looking forward to seeing what this place will continue to be in the next couple of years. I’m so grateful for this place. Coming here as a volunteer really changed my life, and I recommend it to anyone, no matter their age, gender, or culture!
