Joining the team and all the volunteers at Antelope Park was truly a life-changing experience that I was lucky to have. Ever since I was little, I’ve always been interested in conservation and African wildlife, with any African documentary being my favorite to watch. Being able to experience it firsthand with a team so welcoming and fun was everything and more than my dreams had wished for.
I never knew how much work went into conservation until I had this opportunity. Every day was completely different, and being able to volunteer within the local communities really opened my eyes to how much this program gives back, not only to the wildlife but also to the people of Zimbabwe.
The family that owns Antelope Park are so welcoming and will forever hold a very special place in my heart. They think outside the box when it comes to helping find solutions to dwindling animal populations, and I learned so much, not only about how conservation works behind the scenes, but also about myself.
This experience has deepened my passion for protecting wildlife and reminded me how powerful it is when people come together for a greater cause. I’ll forever be grateful for the memories, the lessons, and the lifelong friends I made. Africa and Antelope Park, you have my heart and I can’t wait to return.
