Hi, I’m Greta, I’m 22 years old, and I’ve just returned to Italy after experiencing the most significant journey of my life.
After these three weeks in Zimbabwe, I feel enriched.
I’m proud of myself because I overcame the initial worries that almost kept me from leaving. But once I landed at the airport, my perspective completely shifted. I loved every single person I met along the way.
“Zimbabweans are the sunshine tribe,” someone once told me. And you know what? She was absolutely right. The locals are always ready to help, full of smiles, and they’ll always find a way to lift your spirit.
At first, I was supposed to stay for only two weeks, but I decided to extend. The warm sun, the vibrant colours, the joyful atmosphere, I never wanted to leave.
In just over twenty days, I built incredibly strong bonds, I danced, I laughed, I cried, and I felt emotions so intense that I struggle to put them into words.
I also had the chance to get involved with the community, i loved going at the school, i loved the kids. Watching them run after our van at the end of the day, not wanting to let me go. That feeling is priceless.
It’s impossible to pick just a few highlights because I truly loved every single moment spent at antelope park. I fell in love with my bush life, the amazing rides between zebras, swimming with horses, sharing those moments with people who have the same lifestyle, interests, and ambitions makes you realize you’re in the right place with the right people.
For those who are sceptical about going or not i can only say go book those flights, don’t miss the chance to live the most amazing experience of your lifetime.
